View Full Version : A Fixx Christmas Story

12-24-2000, 06:18 AM

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse
The stereos were dusted and primed with great care
In hopes that a new Fixx CD soon would be there

The Fixxtures were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions from the last tour still danced in their heads
And my girl in only her Fixx-tee and I just my Fixx cap
Had just settled down for a quick winters nap

When from my downstairs there arose such a chatter
I sprang spitting hair to see what was the matter
Away to the noise I flew like a flash
I tore through the kitchen tripping over the trash

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But my living room chocked full of musical gear
And a jolly old singer so soulful and wise
I knew in a moment that it had to be Cy

More rapid than eagles his band mates did came
Cy whistled and shouted and called them by name
On Jamie! On Chris! On Rupert! On Adam! Rock one and all!
Turn up those dials and lets bend a few walls!

As a dry leaf before a wild hurricane wind flys
I shook with glee listening to the bands heavenly cry
And suddenly my neighbors who never cared for me much
Arrived bearing gifts of guitars, incense, and real strong punch

And so after the show with a toke still stuck in my teeth
While the smoke encircled my head like a holiday wreath
I heard the boys exclaim as they drove out of sight

Happy Holidays Everyone!,

Thanks for the new rendition of an old classic. I gotta tell you it would be pretty tough to top that as a Christmas present!!!

Hello All,
I'm glad some folks gotta kick outta my story.

Well it's 2001 and I wanna know where's HAL and those TWA space shuttles with the velcroed stewardesses?, (some useless trivia here...replace each letter in HAL with the next letter of the alphabet and you get...?? Big Surprise huh).

Anyway, I have a feeling this is gonna be a good year for the band, with new material soon in the can and hopefully a summer tour coming up as well. Get ready for some traffic on the board fellows!

Think Peace,

Ha! That's funny -- my dad had that record in his collection, I remember listening to it often growing up.

And, actually, the first record album I purchased was also a sountrack: Star Wars in '77 (I would have been 11 at the time).

You should check out the 2001 soundtrack on cd, it was recently rereleased (around '97 I think) with more songs than on the original LP, and is also remastered:

Well, HAL seems to have found some work on my search page: www.pestosoft.com (http://www.pestosoft.com)

And I think it was PanAm space shuttles... but I haven't seen the movie in several years... time to get the DVD!

I agree about great things happening for the Fixx in the new year!

Happy New Year Octo (and everyone!)

Cool page, ya it was PanAm wasnt it, i havent seen the flick in awhile either. You might think this is weird but one of my first albums was the soundtrack, 8 years old and i was blasting classical outta my bedroom. I wish I had it now, if i remember there was some great classical music on it along with some really tripped out stuff, weird ghostly sounding stuff but very interesting.
