With only 3 new studio tracks on React and several other rare tunes including live cuts that were never recorded in the studio, this "Odds & Ends" poll will try to include those songs.

Let me know if I've missed anything.

I didn't include the Portriats tunes but can add them if necessary.
LMK

The 101 Live Letters songs and other Live "bootlegs" can be heard here (http://www.sightnsound.org) except for Lonely As A Lighthouse. Sorry, I can not provide Lighthouse at this time.

A little tidbit about the Last Night She Cried bootleg recording:

When I recorded this track (1987 at Westport Playhouse in St. Louis) it was the first song of the first encore. I remember some of the people I went to the concert with saying that this song was their favorite that night. Too bad it's cut off a little over half way through...security confiscated my hand held recorder during the song, broke the cassette in two, and threw it on the floor in front of me. After the concert, I picked up the pieces and repaired it the next day. I'm surprised it didn't make the Calm Animals album.

Wow Dan. Thanks for the background on the recording. We came so close to having NO record of it at all. It is a great tune but you have to admit that it doesn't fit with the theme of Calm Animals. Possibly why they didn't put it on there.

"A Letter To Both Sides" loved that this was included with a movie I liked alot [Fletch....BTW I can't wait to find out what Kevin Smith comes up with for his upcoming version of this property] and it is a pretty cool tune.

COME ON PEOPLE! RULES AND SCHEMES IS A GREAT SONG!

I used to play it at my college parties. They loved it.

Actually a tough call between BW and Lighthouse, but without a studio track of the latter, BW gets the nod. It should be running away with this category. I'll be VERY disappointed if it doesn't make it to the next round. Before you vote, go listen to it again. Then, vote for it.

Some songs that I have never heard. The 101 live letters for example...

But without doubt my vote for Letter to both sides!

Ah, I figured I would overlook a couple.

But its a cover tune so I'm thinking its not tragic that is is missing.

I went with Lighthouse, but I would love to hear Kingdom Christsake live sometime. It sounds great on King Biscuit. Don't Be Scared would be cool with some sax too.

Jeanne - You & me both, as they say over here.

Kingdom Christsake - love it.

Since it's on this list I chose Don't Be Scared. I think it's a great song with a great sound often overlooked because it was on React. Letter to both Sides a close second.

Has to be Letter to both sides, awesome song! Its got the best guitar sound Jamie ever came up with on a Fixx track. (We are not worthy ;))

Another song that would be great on the odds and ends list would be Ships Safe In The Harbor (found on the Ink Japanese import), wonderful song with a great driving rock melody through it. A real gem.

Hey Kenny:

Ships Are Safe In The Harbour was on the Poll for Ink during round 1. You can view round 1 here (http://www.thefixx.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2619) .

With only 2 votes it was eliminated for round 2.

A favourite rarity of mine is "Rediscover." I do believe it was only released as a B-side...........to what song I'm not sure though. I do recall this gem being of either Shuttered Room or Reach the Beach vintage. Does anyone know for sure?

Rediscover was from the Walkabout era, good song, I like that one too ;)
