Shuttered Room (CD-jacket):
Cy:
"There was a dark undercurrent to our music and lots of witches and weirdoes followed us but that's not good for your career!"
Chris Welch
London 1996
This is out of context (but no more than in the write-up). It's a puzzling statement, no?
Cy said something else in an interview once about the people who liked the Fixx being too emotionally crippled to venture out to the band's shows...

"Take a look at the witch, see the twitch in her eye...." Deeper and deeper
Cy does mention witches, in several of his lyrics.....

A lot of Fixx lyrics suggest belief in paganism. Perhaps some listeners were taking them too seriously?

"Let the pagan out!!!" Then put his *** in jail. (I added on that last part)
