View Full Version : Genesys, verses 1 through 5

(1) In the beginning chaos implemented the heavens and the Earth. (2) The system was void, save for a miracle of infinite density and curvature cloaked in primal emptiness. And then the spirit of chaos hovered over its surface. (3) Then chaos said, "let there be the initial condition", and then there was a scattering of form. (4) And chaos saw that it was periodic. Then chaos created life, separating purefection from determination. (5) Chaos called the pure "beast" and the determined "his children", and together they formed a holy zoo.

I believe there is no all-knowing-all-seeing God, only chaos, a chaos that cannot absolutely predict its own outcome, it can only foresee that there will be form fashioned from it, we can though create a God of our own design, and the God that I personally subscribe to is one that urges me to protect and care for vulnerable animals

a wiseman once sang that 'God is a number we cannot count to', and that is correct, we can begin a journey seeking knowledge of God, we can be gifted by superior information and enhanced compassion along the way, but we could never arrive at a station of pure and uncorrupted understanding

I wont argue that the original does not have its uses

the polls show 90% of people agree with you, hopefully, and IMO, that will change as control through religious dogma is loosened, organized religion has put more people asunder on this planet than its ever saved, again all IMO that is, but hey whatever gets ya through the next rotation is alright

I ran across an interesting program last night, ChaosPro its called, it can demonstate the effects of chaos on a system, Im not an expert on this stuff by any means, but i can recognize forms that exist all round me, its all quite remarkable to me, especially after a couple of heinys....

1 iteration....

500 iterations....

10,000 iterations....

100,000 iterations....

1,000,000 iterations....

10,000,000 iterations....

chaotic behaviour in a system can also produce forms remarkably similar to spirals, trees, feathers, and sea shells

That all reminds me of this poem:

I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I definitely agree with you there, Octo.
History will show that centuries of division, error and corruption have misled many who were interested in their own salvation. Myself, I'm not a part of "mainstream religion" as such. Have instead been sort of a "spiritual maverick" most of my life. But the passage "In the beginning...." and the lofty words that follow have always given me what I've needed. And thank you for the slide show!! I like to study leaf patterns.....

Lovely verse there, My Queen!! That's a classic.....

God just gave me a command, it was "lay off the beer today, ya slept-in to late..... dont keep the piggys waiting again", and "more peppers please":)

Religion is certainly something that must be taken on faith. Lately, I've been thinking of this Bible verse:

"...if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

That verse alone can open a lot of debate. For one thing, resurrection from the dead is scientifically impossible. Where is the proof? All I can say is that the proof is in your heart with the life transforming power it gives you.

You'll find a beautiful suggestion of this in nature:

A caterpillar goes into a cocoon.
Then "rises again" as a butterfly.....
