Hello Guys and Dolls,
Please find it in your hearts to give as much as you can to www.lovehopestrength.com.
It is easier ,sometimes, to give than receive.
Make me proud!
What are you going to do with anyway?

yep, c'mon folks - cancer and leukemia will affect almost every one of us at some time, be it personally, friend or a family member, come on and join us, send your payment via the website or as Spin It and myself did, sent it via Rockerchic who is taking part and has graciously accepted payment from us. It doesn't matter what you send, have a collection in work and spread the word, sell those old CDs you don't want on eBay and send the proceeds - so go on, it's a great feeling to give and and even better feeling to see the smile on someone's face when they or a family member have been given the all clear.

Just done a poster to put up in our shop and using a spare collecting tin, will forward to proceeds after the event.

Today, I'm wearing my LSHF shirt with the cool guitar logo (like below, only on black). People are asking "Dood, what is that?" The shirt looks great and gets the word out. I recommend getting one!

Also, I put banners on my blog and myspace. Would be cool if they could be placed on this board, also. I'm sure they'll go on the band's site and myspace page soon - maybe they already are? Haven't looked yet. Next up, put up a flyer at my desk. Dozens of people raid my candy dish every day - maybe they'll leave a donation.

Paypal makes it easy to donate. Just took a few seconds to buy my shirt and to sponsor Cy. If you end up with a little spare change each week, it's easy to Paypal that right along...that's my plan. Stuart's made some excellent suggestions, also. Would be cool if Fixxtures were represented in large numbers...

Cy thanks for posting! ;) Your words "Touch" so many of your fans so hopefully many more will follow by sending in their donations! Great to see Stuart and Bash coming up with more approaches to bring in more $$$$$!
Ten more days until the Walkathon/MusicFest. I was at the park yesterday for a short walk and trying to figure out how they will fit 2 stages, a beer tent, and a Kids Kingdom plus the thousands of people in attendance? The park is not that big! Some how it will work! Last year it was only 1 stage and no beer tent so we are looking at things on the big scale this year!
A little over a month from now, Cy and Jamie dare to trek up Mount Everest to put the "Rock" in Mount Everest Rocks! Some how the lyrics from "Deeper and Deeper" are ringing in my head ~
"The further I see I see the edge I look I .... ! Be careful guys keep both feet FIXXED on the ground! My prayers and thoughts with you.

Yikes! Don't wanna think about anybody falling. LOL! Heights aren't my thing - glad I can follow along on podcast and send money. I'll walk that far on a flat, gladly. Just keep it near sea level. :)

Looked at the band's and guy's profiles just now - only Jamie has banners so far.

James, if you're reading this, you've got some "orphans" of a sort. Those 'close paragraph tags' ( </p> ) after your favorite musicians can be deleted. That's one of the few HTML tags that doesn't require closing, and as you can see, sometimes rebels when you do close it. If you need help maintaining the spacing, try using break tags ( <br> ). Those don't need closing either - in other words, never use ( </br> ). Want more lines between 'em? use two break tags ( <br><br> ), etc.

Anyhoo - hope to see banners on the other's sites soon - as we've learned in the web business, if you want people to read something, you have to grab their attention with a graphic first. :)

Rockerchic - how far is that walk, again? Sounds like it will be a big BASH! (Couldn't resist....)

Thanks dee for sending your donation to the LHSF! Hope to see it will help save people in the not so distant future!
My parents just found out that their good friend, Mary, has just been diagnosed with Cancer. She had a hysterectomy for other problems and a biopsy was done and it tested positive. Mary and her family don't know any more than that yet until they return back to the doctor.

Bash you had asked how far the walk is for me, Mike Peters, and all the walkers. It is only 2 miles. It begins at a softball field and ends somewhere out in the park. It is a scenic walk around and through the wooded park with the concerts by the lake side. On quieter days, you can see deer, geese, and chipmunks in their natural habitats in the woods. I have a feeling on this day they will be hiding! This MusicFest draws a large crowd. They open the County College lot across from the park and get shuttle buses to do free shuttles from that parking lot to across the way. I think they are adding many more shuttle locations this year since they are making it more grande. I think it is awesome but there are some people who don't appreciate this production and are blogging negative things about it and saying that the County don't need to be spending money like this, but these naysayers are forgetting that it brings revenue in to other local businesses and large name corporate sponsors. Everyone I happen to know from town and other localities think that this is a great event as we are all avid concert goers to all outdoor shows during the summer months. Just hope the weather will be nice but not too hot! As I mentioned somewhere on this board, I stopped by the park on Tuesday and though there are trees, it still gets very hot and there is not enough areas to cool down at! Might be good business for the beer tent though!;)

from Bash:
Also, I put banners on my blog and myspace.

Where can one get a banner, Bash?

Or just a little clickable poster?

I couldn't sleep, so I made my own.
Here's one I made for MySpace. I know a little HTML. A copy and paste will put this on your page. Those of you who have a site, feel free to use it:

I did the same as you, DP - made my own. I'm guessing there will be official ones available on the LHSF site soon...it still said "Coming Soon" under the "Spread the Word" section, last time I looked.

Dee, I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, and hope all turns out well for the rest of your family ((hugs)).

09-08-2007, 11:28 AM
Sorry about your Uncle! That makes 3 deaths again. My Aunt, a friend of my father-in-law, and your uncle.
My Aunt had her viewing last night and today her body is getting cremated.
I was happy because we had heard they were having a closed casket but to my surprise it was not. Seen many cousins that I have not seen in years. My infamous cousin that is the "Starbucks Rejection" guy was there. Not an overly friendly guy though as he seemed very wrapped up into himself. Dressing like the evening was about him with the sun glasses and rockstar clothing! His greeting to us was rather cold and he walked around with a great big chip on his shoulder. Some people from my grandfather's side did not know of him but asked me why he looked familiar so I explained. My aunts and uncles all of sudden were like groupies as they swarmed him to tell him how they had not put it all together, that they had just seen him in the paper and on TV and asked me why he was familiar. He looked stunned when they gathered around him and he's saying "What do you know? how did you know?" Like DUH! I did not bother to return for the services today because my kids were a little crabby so we have been home playing on the computer. I am missing a beautiful day outside too but the 4 year old is having melt downs and is just taking the fun and life out of me today!

09-09-2007, 03:23 PM

For the LHSF Rock on Walkathon and Music Fest please go to my space page for now as it was lengthy and I am cramped for time this week.

I will get my story here one of these days!

My photos will go to Myspace after being processed ( used real film) not digital so not knowing yet how they are going to turn out.

09-29-2007, 01:59 PM
Hi Sherrie, got your letter today, many thanks for taking the time, we have a collecting tin in the shop that's already half full so another donation will go direct to Cy and Jamie's names on the LHS site, not sure how much it'll raise but usually a full tin provides about 25 UK in loose change so it all counts. Just wondering if Paypal are waiving their fees for the donations they take online. Be nice of them if they did.

09-29-2007, 03:00 PM
You are doing a fantastic job and I want to say Stuart thanks for your dedication to LHSF! I too just added more money - some to Cy and some to Jamie. It may not be a lot but every bit adds up in the end and you'll be surprised how far it could go in the parts of the world less fortunate then us! Looking forward to keeping tabs on our Mountain Moving Musicians!:D
