Hi All,

Just checking to see who's coming in for the Atlantic City show Friday night at the House Of Blues. I was fortunate enough to host the last Fixx show here in AC a couple of years ago (with Mising Persons, Tommy Tutone, and The Knack) - and even had Dr. Roger join me on stage for some fun with The Fixx. It's been too long since we've had them here - and I for one can't wait for the show this Friday. Who's in?

Paul Kelly

Hello my name is Sherri and my husband Kevin and I will be at the Atlantic City show. We are anticipating arriving early afternoon. We are planning on staying overnite. Do you have any suggestions for a decent and reasonable place to stay?
Looking forward to meeting more Fixxtures! - Sherri

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,

IT'S MY PLEASURE TO INTRODUCE TO YOU MR. PAUL KELLY, THE PREMIERE ROCK AND ROLL DJ ON THE EAST COAST !!

I had the pleasure of hanging with Paul last time in A.C., what a Blast !! Paul is a huge Fixx fan and a true 80's era authority. A great mix, and a great guy as well. Thanks Paul for all the promotion you did and continue to do on behalf of The Fixx. Thanks for sponsoring the Fixx last tour. We (the fans) feel the same way........

YES, I look forward to seeing you in A.C. in just a few days..... see you then my friend!

Hi Sherri

Trying to get a hotel room @ a reasonable price @ a casino on a summer weekend may be tough...but try. You may do better @ the AC sheraton. Theres also a HoJo in town if that is more your speed. I look forward to meeting you friday night!

Sherri - Online rates on the boardwalk can run between $200-300. Do not stay at the Econolodge, Quality Inn, or Days Inn. Very seedy, smelly, trust the reviews. Stay at a "big name hotel", Trump, Sheraton, etc. Or stay on Black Horse Pike at Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express and drive in (but you have to drive home or take a taxi).

We've got a room at the Tropicana, and cannot wait. We haven't seen the Fixx since Hard Rock Orlando in 2005. And we're totally psyched (sh*t, an 80's term!) about see The Alarm too. I last saw them in '87 &'90, wow. I'm blowing out of work at noon and flying down the AC expressway, should be in AC by 4 (coming from Philly).

Hope to meet new friends for the night. Let's party.

Sherri, had to give in and book at the Showboat, although The Trop had better rates.
Also if anyone's interested in meeting some of The Alarm fans, our pre-gig meet up will be at The Irish Pub on St. James Place. Everyone is welcome, we're quite a friendly bunch. Hope to meet some of you in person.

Great input from ice7sand and pkjork. Thank you for the knowledge!
My hubby and I can't recall the name of the place we last stayed which was in nearby Pleasantville. It was like 10 years ago. I remember we had I believe a suite as it had a jacuzzi. The place had a lounge and an indoor pool. Not sure if it was Marriott or something of the likes. This time though I did not want to have to travel off the boardwalk too far after the show and it would be nice to be near the ocean in the morning. I have some stories about my days/evening in A.C. that would make you laugh your @ss off! I used to go twice a year by bus and stay over at a nearby bed and breakfast ( which has now been torn down!). Interesting characters come out in the wee hours so be careful! I once was stranded alone off the boardwalk and I felt a little unsafe. I survived by acting like I was crazy.

As it turns out, it looks like I have a room at The Showboat afterall! Some acquaintance of my friend's mother was able to get me a room at a very nice price! I owe this person big time if we ever meet!
I hope to meet all of you and yes let's party like a rockstar!
I am the lady with the permanantly "afixxed" smile - most people can spot me based on that alone! lol! - if not, I usually have some odd outfit like a flag top with flag jeans or a vintage rock shirt or something black with stars or flags. ~ or send me a pm and I'll give you my cell number.
Counting the days and hours - how quickly they do go by!

I'll try to swing by The Irish Pub beforehand, since everything is on the way coming from the Trop. Grabbing a beer at a bunch of places as we make our way down the boardwalk will be the plan. I'm meeting some NY friends, who will be looking for me at the show, so I plan to wear a yellow Corona Beer T-shirt (visible even in the dark). Cheers!

Hi Sherri, I think we were aiming for 5-ish. They have food for those who may want some dinner. The doors at H.O.B. are at 7:30 and the show starts at 8:30. It shouldn't be that far of a walk to the venue from there.
Look forward to seeing you again.

:(  NOOOOOOOOOOO You can't do this! I waited too long and to finally get away alone without my kids for an overnight stay in A.C.! Not too mention I had to pull strings to get my room at The Showboat and now I may never get that opportunity again as the person will think I flaked out on him! Most of all I needed a VERY BIG FIXX! A samll sampling wasn't gonna' do so I was going to both A.C. and NEW York City! Please say New York City will stay in place!!!!!!
TEARS ARE ROLLIN" AND MY HEART IS PALPITATING. ALL THE HARD WORKED PLANS TO MAKE MY BREAK TO THE SHOW! DOWN THE TUBES! WAAAAAAHH!

Hair is whiter and pulled out now  Brad I think I am still going to Atlantic City anyhow cause' I can't reneg. on my deal as it would not be very nice and I don't like to carry a bad reputation. If you get bored, consider coming. Give me a call. My cell battery of course is acting up so either try to leave a voice message or try my home phone also may have to leave a message cause' I am chained to the chair so not to harm myself! I will leave by mid morning and will stay until Saturday. Heck my parents will have the kids almost all weekend so not much time constraints on my end! Hopefully my pissy mood will be lifted!
and any lurkers that are in New Jersey - don't think about robbing the house cause' there isn't any money left!:p

Go ahead make my day! On My Space I get a band that wants to be added as a friend and they are called Darvoset - I am quite sure that is a name for A PAIN KILLER! Of course being in the pain I am in, I befriended them. Wonder if they have a Friday night show in Atlantic City?

I was roadtrippin from Philly with my bro' in law, a new Fixxture. Oh well, just have to see them in DE. in August. They don't have to share the stage with anyone, that's the way I like it. Keep the Faith!

45 rpm will be posting when she gets the time but I got the go ahead to tell any Fixx fans that were attending the Atlantic City show that Mike Peters will still put on an 1 1/2 set or so at The Irish Pub at St. James Place in Atlantic City. The pub where the pre-show meet up was scheduled with fellow Alarm fans. So if anyone was still going to the big A.C. come out to see Mike Peters as he will give you a free performance! :goodie:
