Until Stu throws one at us I have a question about something that has puzzled me just a bit for the last 3 or 4 years, and seeing how we have all the experts here on this thread.....

Q1: Does anyone have any info about a band called Doctor Rain that featured JWO back in 1992?

Q2: Does anyone here have a copy of the record "And The Knife Ran Away With The Spoon" featuring JWO and whats the scoop on Jamies playing on it

Q3: Does that look like Jamie to you in the top right side of this pic of the band.........

the following pages list the album, which is evidently out of print, as available from them..............

    Stuart,

    1. Red Skies
    2. Brave
    3. Fatal Shore

in 54 minutes mind ya, if i had noticed the hints beforehand i would have had it in under 15

start with the K, its the least common letter up there, that narrows it down quickly to Red Skies, move on to B and V which is also less common than the other letters, you might think SBZ at this point but alas no Z to be found here, only Brave has a B and a V in it, that leaves F, L, and S to consider next which easily leads us to the Fatal Shore

never hand a geek an anagram, we live for this kinda stuff

    next Q....

We all know that Hollywood Ending and No Hollywood Ending were tentative titles for WTL, but there was another title that was being considered, its a 3 word phrase thats been mentioned more than once here on the forum, and it is also a prominent lyrical moment on one of the songs on WTL

    What is it?

That's brilliant Octo, I fell guilty posting that one as it may have kept people going for a day or so, 54 minutes, geeeez, woulda taken me 54 weeks!!!!

My guess at the answer to your question.

    Would it be Wizard Of Wonder { I know that Touch was originally called Wizard, but was this also considered as a working title}

put on those viking horns and take a bow Stu

thankfully Ed set the boys straight and steered them away from that title, not to knock anyones judgement mind you but, IMO, it sounds a bit like a TV afterschool special for kids

Want That Life..... much better I think

    OT..........

Ive been working at Met Life as an IT pee-on for the last couple months, I bring WTL in all the time and people really like this record, Ive had more than one person comment positively on the music, theres one woman there though who likes to sneak over and turn it down while im on break even though ive turned it off, she thinks im not gonna notice the knobs gone from 9:00 position to 7:00, but if she does it one more time Im gonna make a voodoo doll, do da Hendrix-at-Monterey chant-summons, and then start sticking pins in her ass

    youre it Stu........................

with her I have a feeling it doesnt need to be loud, or unreasonable, it just needs to be audible, but Im headphoning it today with my portable, my ears are ringing and i dont mind at all, "Is That It?" cranked coming up................... only way to have that one, gotta finish my bagel now before it gets too cold..............

know what you mean Octo, I worked at Progressive for a few years, we had our little cubby holes, 3 of us to each box. Anyhow, we had to have earphones only, think about it though, what if everybody had the music they like playing at the same time??? like you I think I fried my brain at times with my favorites...

sorry, Stu already guessed the answer... "wizard of wonder"

heres one until Stu throws another....

Walkabout had a more upbeat message to it compared to earlier records, Cy once attributed the change to two things....

    heres your hints....

1: "CAN A TIVO", rearrange that anagram to make one word
2: Look at the picture on the WTL CD itself, what do you see? think homophone here

    What were they?

    1. ?
    2. ?

    good going mitraria!

    1. A vacation
    2. The birth of his son (homophone for <sun> in the CD pic)

for folks who havent been yet the links page at the main site has some very cool places to get info on the boys, glen gafters archive, sunburns unofficial site, and the old mailing list is archived somewhere <i was an old lurker on that list for about a yr>, along with others

I guess its mitrarias turn until Stu comes back, myself im gonna sit out for a bit, but I think this is a pretty neat thread to learn stuff about the band and hope it keeps goin', i know i learned a couple things!
