    Smile Hello Clive

    Hello Clive,

I have been a fan since I heard One Thing Leads to Another on the radio. I bought Reach The Beach and was hooked. I than purchased Shuttered Room and the rest is history.

I've been listening to the Fixx since the very early '80s.

I bet there are more ppl like me on this board.
Is it possible to have more choices in the poll?

About 20 years myself, as well, although I've only recently gotten into the catalog beyond singles and the like. I always do that....guess I just have to live with an artist's music a little before I dive into the deep end with them!

Count me in there Brad, although the 1st Fixx single I bought was SBZ, I'd been listening to them on things like the Bob Harris show and John Peel Radio 1 for some time before that, just that I was not old enough for an income of my own that afforded the luxury of buying the music I wanted.
That said, in 1982 I did manage to save enough of my school dinner money to go and see a relatively unknown band of Irish lads, called U2......but that's a different story.

    22 years and counting....

I bought my first Fixx LP when it first arrived at the record store I frequented in 1982....kinda ashamed of the fact that it was purchased not because I knew any of the music but because I thought the cover was cool. And I thought, at the time, if the cover's cool then the music should be pretty good. Fortunately that was the case here....unlike other LPs I bought using the same choosing method. And each new Fixx LP/CD got better....making me want a new one as soon as is possible.

I bought my copy of "Shuttered Room" for exactly the same reason as Geoff - I liked the cover. But when I played it I realised it was a band I'd seen on TV a couple of weeks earlier doing a couple of live songs, and had thought were pretty good. "Cameras In Paris" was the track I recognised. Loved that album to death, and bought all their albums since!

Liked them in the 80s. Heard them again on and Calm Animals and Ink. Got Elemental and thought that was pretty good. Found out they were touring and saw them in 2001. Listened to 1011 Woodland and saw them in again in Racine. Then it clicked. And now I'm hooked.

    more than 20+ from me....

hell, if i counted the miles on my RTB LP, it would go 'round the globe at least 10 times, making just RTB alone fit into the 1-5 year category all by itself!

same with elemental, it was such a long drought, that self indulgence took over to get an overdose/fix of fixx.... not knowing if there would ever be another cd.

So the same with WTL, it's only been out of my car cd player once,,

and frigging thanx to the audio hi-fi in no H ending, it fried one of my rear speakers this weekend, and i had the bass backed off too!!!!

    Q?????

looking at pix from the vermont show where outside they had the band name on the marquee outside and when one glances real real quick,

doesnt it almost (out of the corner of your eye) look like you are seeing

the almost: "XXX" the FIXX XXX

thought we were entering a porn theatre (laughing!)

and our gutter minds make your eye come back for a curious second look!.... to see if you saw what you thought you naughtily saw?? XXXXXXX

whew, finally got to spout that one out!

and no, i have never visited one of those places- thankyou very much!

I've been a Fixx FANatic since I first heard "Stand or Fall" back in the beginnings of MTV.

It's taken a while to gather up the rest of the library, but I will soon be at 100% before the end of summer.

The next time I am out on the West Coast, you can bet I'll look for them when they play at one of the clubs.

Lucky you good people who has done so already...

    Cheers,
    Bryan
