    Listen

Ok, you've proven you can Google lyrics that you don't really know and answer with song titles you didn't know.

Now let's REALLY play Name That Tune

    Starting with an easy one

(give it 30 seconds or so to download)

    Ok, artist is obvious.
You've gotta name the tune as well.

Well, Steve I myself am horrible at picking out pieces of obscure music and knowing what the song is. Unless it's a distinctive style [Mark Knopfler, JWO, Eddie Van Halen, et. al]. I've always been more of a words guy. But, that doesn't mean I won't at least listen and try. I just have no clue whatsoever what group or song those are at all.

Ok, I haven't been around in a while... and I'm not entirely good with mere guitar solos, but I'd say that it sounds like Joe Satriani. Either him or Yngwie. I'm probably wrong, though, aren't I?!

It's not Joe Satriani but you are RED HOT. There's really only a couple other artists like him (that made it big).

    Smile Strickly a Guess

    Hello Steve,

Is it Eric Johnson or Steve Vai? My guess would be Eric Johnson.
The voice in the song reminds me of Paul Rodgers from Bad Company.

    Yes!
    It is Eric Johnson.
It's a tune from his album Ah! Via Musicom

    Smile Hello Steve

    Hello Steve,

Thanks for the clip. I did not know that song but the guitaring was very smooth like Eric Johnson plays. Steve Vai to me is not as smooth.

Steve if a person wanted to buy just one Eric Johnson album what would you recommend?

The only one I have is Ah! Via Musicom and I like it very much. Not all of the songs are instrumentals (example being the clip I posted - A guitar solo from a song with lyrics). Ah! Via Musicom has Cliff Of Dover on it which I'm sure you'll recongize.

I don't know anything about his other albums.
    Sorry.

    Hello Steve,

"The only one I have is Ah! Via Musicom" Thanks for the information I will get it on your recommendation.

PS I figured your favorite song would have been "Steve's Boogie."

Now that is an odd one there Steve. I just picked up that CD for my Brother-In-Law and he said I should give it a listen and well I knew "Cliffs of Dover" already and wasn't in the mood. Had I listened to it then I may have figgered this one out.
