I would recommend The Bends. Happy Listening. LD

    Hello everyone...
I will tell you what I like, but you must promise not to laugh.

    Besides the Fixx...

Rhythm Corps (no longer together...saw them open for the Fixx in Ann Arbor)
    U2 (the first few albums)
    Shriekback
Barenaked Ladies (been a fan for about 8 years)
Rusted Root (gets my toes tapping on even the most difficult days)

Now, for the more unusual stuff...
Russell Donnellon (solo classical guitarist. Plays at art fairs and such... just stands next to his cardboard boxes of CD's and lets you serve yourself. A wonderful guy. This is medicine for my migraines!)

Clannad (Celtic... makes me feel as if I am standing on a misty green hill wrapped in something white and gauze-like, while the cold wind blows.)

any Christmas music. I can't help it. I am addicted.

Crosby, Stills, Nash with or without Young.

Oh, another not so unusual one...

    Talking Heads.

that is just a few. I have very eclectic tastes in music. I like to think it is because I am enlightened. LOL

    Crowded House
Neil Finn (Lead singer of Crowded House)
    The Sundays (great voice)
    Roxette
    Bryan Adams
    Yes
    Sting
    The Police
    Queen
    Rush
Mr Mister (remember I am an eighties child)
    Tears For Fears
    Duran Duran
    Depeche Mode
    The Cure
    (Off the Deep end)
    AC/DC

Let me jump in on this subject as well, but no matter what, the Fixx is still #1 in my musical mind.

    -Duran Duran
    -Boyz II Men
    -Mariah Carey
    -Lenny Kravitz
    -Beastie Boys
    -Eminem
    -Ace of Base

Probably some of these groups you wouldn't expect from a Fixx fan since I didn't grow up through the 70's of music like the majority of you. I was really too young at that time since I'm only 27. The Fixx started it all for me at the tender age of nine.

I have been playing guitar for 18 years and have discovered a lot of great bands while studying their guitarists.

Blue Oyster Cult has been one of my favs since I discovered there was music beyond the top 40, which was in 1980. Buck Dharma is an incredible guitarist and the entire band is truly amazing.

    Santana
    Allman Bros. Band
    Primus
    Steely Dan
    Kansas
    Styx
    Al DiMeola
    Paco DeLucia
    Gwar
    Metallica
    Dire Straits(pre 84)
    Elton John
    Gordon Lightfoot
    Tragically Hip
    Rush
    Yes

Well there are a few. I'm not really into a lot of the 80s music, the Fixx is the oly 80s band I really enjoy I guess. And I REALLY enjoy their music and their live shows. Thanks for asking.

If you like the Fixx, check out Fish (not to be confused with "Phish." The artist is the former lead singer of Marillion (Check out some of their older stuff- Misplaced Childhood- too.)

His solo albums are fantastic. A great place to jump in would be the album "A Kettle of Fish" or "Sunsets on Empire."

Fairly obscure stuff, but readily available in better record stores and online. I love this guy. He's a genuine poet. Just like our Cy.

My all time favorite band is Simple Minds, but The Fixx are a close second! (Maybe "1.5" is a better way to describe it). It's hard to "rank" all the band/artists I like, so here's a general list:

    Simple Minds
    The Fixx
    Weezer
    Depeche Mode
    Nirvana
    Squeeze
    New Order
    Duran Duran
    The Cure
    John Hiatt
    George Michael
    Blue Rodeo
    Hall & Oates
    Marilyn Manson
    R.E.M.
    The Smiths/Morrissey
    Split Enz/Crowded House
    Kraftwerk
    Suede
    Prince
    Tori Amos
    ABC
    U2
    Adam Ant

    Way too many to mention!!!
