    Amusing Interview

This gave me a chuckle (especially the part about Simon Lebon):

It think someone else already posted this article.

Interesting read. I like this quote: "Advertising has become a place where you can hear better music than on the radio."

Way too many f words. (OK. Three, but it seems like a lot.) Hey Cy, dude, that produces bad Karma.

I "also" also like Duran Duran. Initially excited about (original line-up) comeback. The new album blows...

You would think after having not played together for some 20 years, the boys would have anted-up some fresh ideas, musically and melodically. That first single("Sunrise") is just bland and boring and just "going through the motions". Their melodies used to be so catchy and inventive! It's just disappointing is all,...IMO.

They certainly took full advantage of the continuing "nostalgia craze" though, because "Astronaut" went Top 20,despite it's musical iniquities. I don't know...maybe next time fellas.

"Way too many f words"?? "Bad Karma"?? You're kidding, right?

If Cy's guilty of anything in that article,it's perhaps showing cracks of jadedness just below the surface. You can sense the resentment in his tone from being a casualty of the 80's,doomed to working the "nostalgia circuit".

Your Dogma appears to be trapped under the tires of some (pretentious) Karma. Come on,lighten up...;and stop picking on words that start with the letter "f" you friggin' frigger.

    ..

I think the dicission for "Sunrise" as the first single was unhappy... The`re so many good songs and great ideas on that album. And typical for Duran in the past: Not the singles got that quality, more the songs, who were not so often played...

That's right precious, the Fore!!!-head, both cheeks, the chin, and especially the mouth. You know, that general area.

Friggin' frigger? Them's fightin' words, Bub.

Seriously. You shouldn't take me very seriously. One of my long neck bottles must have accidentally fallen over, tapping the send key. If Cy is reading it, he's probably going "whatever".

And if there is bad Karma involved, it would be mine. I use that word way too much.

Anyway. I found an earlier thread about this interview. Enjoy:
