I first saw The Fixx at my college in London - Middlesex Polytechnic, in the very early '80's. The played in a bar not unlike The Avalon in San Jose last night (3 March). My lasting memory of the gig apart from the quality of the music was Cy being on a stage in which he could touch the roof of the bar and of a scar that he had on one of his cheeks that was ascentuated by the uplight.

The next band I saw at Middx Poly was The Thompson Twins of which the principal band members now live on a farm in New Zealand so I applaud The Fixx for their staying power in the industry.

The quality of the music at the Avalon was superb and while a little less moody then they were 20 or so years ago they remain a quality act.
