Sorry you didn't like SS. It's one of my favorite Fixx songs. Guess not every cover will be loved by all..... But, there's plenty of other great tunes on the tribute.

The album will ship April 13th, BTW. Finally completed!

I have a few other songs that didn't make it on the album. I may post them to the bonus download section in the next week or so.

I didn't like it on first spin...so who knows - there's always songs on every album that don't strike you at first and then grow on you. SS is one of my favorites as well...so I'll just have to give it a fair listen.

That's cool. I like it well enough. Maybe because of the female vocals. Very different from the orginal considering. I only have one song I don't like on the album. But I can live with it since other like it.

My favorites are:

Royal Visionaries - No One Has To Cry
Empire State Human - Save By Zero

Hey, it's a tribute. Very few covers can ever live up to the original. Certainly, our artists did some great work doing electronic versions and they're fun to listen to. But, there's nothing like the real thing. :-) Lucky for us, we can appreciate both.

You are so right about the tributes... it IS hard to redo a really good original. I can't wait to get the disk and listen to it loud... Now...if someone like Kruder & Dorfmeister could get a hold of a song or two and do a little remixing... ooooooo...just got tingles!

I received my copy of the Fixx electronic tribute, and it is great! I encourage everyone on this board to check out the samples online & consider buying a copy. I particularly like "Deeper And Deeper" by Monolithic and "Running" by Equatronic. It's cool to hear different interpretations of these songs. I know that The Fixx received airplay on AOR rock radio more than anything else in the states, but to me, they were always a "modern rock/new wave" band (or at least a rock band with new wave tendencies). Therefore, an electronic tribute is most fitting. Much praise to Randall for putting this project together!
