Vote - Your favourite 1011 Woodland song (round 1)

What is your favourite song from 1011 Woodland?

1011 Woodland is being included in the Great FiXX Off because the recordings were completely different interpretations of their prior songs.

Hard to choose, but for me it has to be Woman On A Train. The new guitar riff Jamie has come up for this song totally changes the feel of the song and makes it even better than it was. Though I still love the original more 'electronic' version.

Following a close second is Still Around, again, it's the beautiful guitar work that gets me.

Ah, that is an easy one for me: I will. Cause it sounds so different and jazzy...

This version of "Woman on a train" which they have done live in recent years is truly amazing.

I think Woman on a train is my fav off of 1011 Woodland because it is far superior to the Phantoms original. Great guitar riff from Jamie which makes the song better, (overall its a better arrangement). As Cy says on the 1011 DVD commentary "It breathes new life into the song".

    Thumbs up

    still around

this song in this form touched me all the way. . . it's hard not to feel it every time I hear it. . . it's what prompted me to entitle my autobiographical poem around Christmas 2003 the same. . .
    big ups for this one!

it's just so hard to pick just one, because I don't skip any of these songs!!!

Really hard to pick, but I gotta vote for "Outside" the whole extra 5 minutes of pure jam session is a major treat for me.

I have to agree with the Queen... I get lost in this version of Outside. Having recently become a Fixx fan (re-introduced to them by my honey, who kindly gave me the entire Fixx collection for my birthday!!!) I actually heard the 1011 recordings before I heard some of the originals, and have become very fond of them. As I musician, I love listening to the ways in which things changed from the earlier recordings. It's been a joy.

Really hard to choose but I went with Driven Out because of Jamie's extended guitar jam. Zero and Wish close seconds.

I enjoy listening to their original versions and then wowed by what they are doing to these songs now.

    They are an amazing band!

I am the winner in any event.
