Wow, XM played A Letter To Both Sides?

    How cool is that?

Which channel? The 80s doesn't ususally get that deep into the discography.

I hear the same songs by the Alarm and Echo & The Bunnymen EVERY day. In 4 months I have heard the Fixx played just twice.. "One Thing" both times. I'm switching to XM.
I've only had Sirius for a month, and I've heard The Fixx well over a dozen times. It's just a matter of when you have the radio on. I have The Fixx saved as an Artist search (I have the Starmate Replay, Sirius' only radio w/artist search), so anytime they come on, I'm alerted. I'm guessing you have more reasons than just 'not enough Fixx' to leave Sirius - that's a lot of money to invest to switch channels over one group! Seriously, though, the repetition - yeah, I hear it sometimes. But I also listen to the radio almost constantly, so it's bound to happen. I also continue to hear 'new' stuff almost every day. Today I heard The Mission's "Butterfly On A Wheel" and Killing Joke's "Twilight Of The Mortal" on 1st Wave for the first time. I just think they have a high rotation list just like any other radio station. Unless you burn your own CDs, that's pretty much unavoidable no matter where you go.

I'm a Sirius devotee, if you can't tell already (!), but if you switch to XM, I respect that decision, because you're doing what's best for your personal tastes, and you're still supporting the satellite radio community, and not going back to boring FM radio. A lot of people like to pit Sirius vs. XM, but I think both companies are really sharing the same locker room. They're the only ones enabling satellite radio to survive, so I hope to see XM succeed as much as Sirius. In my opinion, it really is the future of radio, and I liken it to the first arrival of cable TV in the late 70's/early 80's. It's a revolutionary event that needs more exposure and understanding by mainstream society.

You say "Fred" and I say "1st Wave" - it's all good.

    Dish Network - channel 957

I have Dish Network for satellite TV (my employer does too, and uses it for the sound system) and there are several good channels - 6022 is Sirius First Wave (classic alternative). Channel 957 is adult alternative and I heard 'Happy Landings' at work yesterday at 12:40 pm CST. It brought a smile to my face immediately.

All of this talk inspired me to check out the 80's Channel on Direct TV (I switched from Dish when I moved). To my utter delight - they were playing "Our We Ourselves"!!!!

One Thing Leads To Another video!

    VH1 Classics, Nov. 19, 6:52 PM EST

OH MY! Does this video bring back memories!

Back in the day, I wanted to look just like Cy did in that video so I bought canary yellow carpenter pants, a baby blue t-shirt (ripped off the collar and sleves) and white high tops. My hair even looked like his at the time.

Man, was I stylin' or what!!!! OK, probably not, but I tried my best to emulate my hero.
