    Any Star Trek Fans???

I was driving to work today, I heard that James Doohan (Scottie) died yesterday.

I was a nanny in Redmond Washigton, in the Same Neighborhood that he lived in and meet him on several occasions walking his dog or while we were out and about... . He was one of the nicest men I had ever met and never was there an aire of "Star Quality " about him ... He was alway patient and polite to the kids, answering endless questions for those who were old enough to understand who he was and I heard he often would give "tours" of his Star Trek collection to those who asked... The kids I was in care of,were to young to know who he was .. but i will never forget what a nice gentleman he was ....

God Speed on your journey to the "final Frontier" ....RIP, James .

Scotty was always a favorite...was bummed to hear the news yesterday.

Best way to toast an Irish descendant who played a Scot is to raise a glass of Irish whiskey made by a Scottish transplant (Jameson). To you, Mr Doohan. RIP...

Scottie got beamed up. He was 85 years old. God bless and rest his soul.

I loved Star Trek, watching the (wow!) first-run episodes.

Got no Jameson, but Doohan's character would have drunk Scotch anyway!

    Goodbye Mister Scott

He was my favorite on the series and will be missed. He also co-authored "The Flight Engineer" series of novels which were very good. A toast to you Mister Doohan! Now there is someone to beem us all up!

I always loved him, and all the other original Star Trek cast...they hold a special place in my heart and gave me many hours of escape during those trying adolescent years.

    Beam me up, Scotty.

I am the winner in any event.

Ok, I'll admit I was a Star Trek fan.

Very bummed to hear the news.
Surprising though is that he had another child just 5 years ago at the age of 80.

His legacy will be carried on...

I guess he finally found those Dilithium Crystals after all.

I was a great fan of Star Trek, the original, but for some reason
none of the other shows appealed to me.
I guess I am just an old fuddy-duddy

    Cheers James,
    God Bless

Sorry to hear that news.I did quite like Scotty, although Dr McCoy was my favorite!

As an absolute die hard Star Trek fan, I loved James Doohan. He came to a few of the conventions I attended and was never standoffish. He was so friendly and and down to earth, unlike the time when I had the opportunity to see Shatner up close and personal. You would love to sit down and raise a glass with Doohan...

    you'll be missed, Scottie...
