(we still agree on Walkabout) ...I have to put a good word in too for Phantoms. It was my favorite for a long time and I still love it. When I listen to it, two years of my life come directly back to view since Phantoms was the sole tapestry I lived it against. It really isn't fair having to choose. I mean, if we could only take ONE album with us to the grave, I would just have to say "That's it! I aint dyin!

Ink is my husband's favorite as well. He'd come on here and vote but he's too busy and I can't vote for him, so ...oh well.

As much as I like "Shuttered Room" and "Reach The Beach" for the nostalgia factor...I'd have to say that "Want That Life" will eventually be considered a Fixx CLASSIC in a few years.

    That's a great prediction...(and quite plausible I believe)

By the way, I never realized how bad I am at typing... I'm having a heck of a time doing this in the dark!

My favorite is Calm Animals, followed by Ink and Elemental......They have more of the intense fixx songs then the others, but there are other intense songs that don't seem to have a home, but are in the same time period.....

1, Phantoms, you just gotta love that bass line in "lose Face" and "Woman on a train"

2, Reach the Beach, "Liner"...Sheer brilliance!

3, Shuttered Room, "Stand or Fall" and "Time in a glass"...Classic!

I recently heard a song called "European" by A Flock of Seagulls, it sounds like a note for note rip off of "Stand or Fall"

Thanks for joining us from way down there Fixxate. I agree about the bass from Phantoms. Brilliant.

As for European, I hadn't made that connection. I think European stands well alone (as opposed to falling ha ha). I think it is one of the better AFOS tunes - I must give it anohther listen with STand or Fall in mind.

    Cheers Mate!

    Hi Cygnet,

Yeah i love the bass lines in songs and sadly no i don't play...did however learn piano, alto sax and trumpet at high school.
One of my all time favorite bass players (after Dan Brown of course) is Mark King of Level 42... fantastic player.

    Album as released here,
The cassette cover is a little worse for wear but i suppose not bad for being 22 years old...
