I'm randomly collecting The Fixx...I just picked up Ink. Should be interesting to see why this isn't a particular favorite. I'm going into it with an open mind!
Fluxus is not: a movement, a moment in history, an organization. Fluxus is: an idea, a kind of work, a tendency, a way of life, a changing set of people who do Fluxworks.

Listening to Less Cities More Moving People

Fluxus, I am curious as to what you will make of Ink? I love some of the songs from that, such as Crucified, Yesterday Today and Make No Plans.

I'm waiting for it to show up in my mailbox. I'll certainly offer my two cents. I'd ask for more info, but I want to stay clear and not go in with too many preconceived notions. (Phoenix mail is slower than baseball...)

Yesterday i recieved my shippment of 13...yes 13 Fixx CD's...proceeded to sit down and listen to everyone of them.
Having not heard any albums from the Fixx since Ink, i was interested to hear something new from them.
One that stuck in my mind was 1011 Woodland....what a fantastic album!
The acoustic versions really show the depth of the Fixx's music abilities...
Cy's voice is superb...his dynamic range is increadible...songs like I will, Wish and Outside sent shivers down my spine.
Jamie's efforts on the guitar must result in some very busy fingers....
While Phantoms still gets my vote for best album...1011 woodland gets #1 for the best "greatest hits catergory"

    Thumbs up

I agree; 1011 Woodland is really special. Rather sacred in its quiet way.

Until last summer I did not own a Fixx "album". I did though own 2 greatest hits, the extended versions, React and King Biscuit. Last summer I bought Want that Life and Reach the Beach. Wow!!! I have since bought and listened to all of their cds. Loved the hits off Beach back in high school never bought the album, big mistake. Reach the Beach is the total package.

    1) Reach the Beach

    2) Happy Landings/Lost Tracks -Love Happy landings

    3) Want that Life, the spirit is there, but musically it just doesn't measure up.

4)Shuttered Room- Some great, songs, but not the package.

Woodlands is beautiful musically though not really an album.

Ink- How much is Enough is outstanding

    Elemental- a little creepy

    Smile Welcom!!!

Welcome to the board, Rebb! Is that short for Rebecca?...or Rebbecca?... I'm glad The Fixx has found you and you have found us. We all love The Fixx here (obviously), so you'll fit right in. It's great to have you here!

By the way, Rebb, there's a forum here called "All About You" where you can introduce yourself to everyone: Tell us your favorite flavor of ice cream...you know...stuff like that... (although your post here was a great intro).

Its a toss up between Elemental and Walkabout, two superb albums, in which every track (just about) is a gem. Elemental sounds more mature but Walkabout has so many wonderful tracks too. Too tough to decide, god!!

Emm, Ill go with Walkabout, Built for the future, cant finish, sense the adventure, one look up, camphor, they say it all.

Polls make me think too much, and now I have a headache!! Just kidding!

RTB hit my heart and my head so hard when I first heard it, it will always be my favorite. I guess it was just the perfect snapshot of my life and how I felt at the time. I love every FIXX CD I have, but that one will always be THE one for me. I have Elemental with me today, time for it's turn in the rotation.
