    Talking Salutations from the UAE

It's pretty sad that I've only been a Fixx fan for about two years or so.
But in my defense, Dubai (my city) doesn't have any significant eighties music in the stores or at the clubs.
Most of the people here listen to hip hop and such.
But there is a sizeable audience in the UAE who'd love to see The Fixx perform.

Any chance that you might ever come to the middle east?

P.S. It's nice to be here

P.P.S My favorite has to be Red Skies.

I met a guy from the UAE once. He showed photos of Abu Dhabi (I think was the city) before and after the oil money. What a difference!

Welcome, and how did you discover The Fixx?
I am the winner in any event.

    Talking Hi again

Yeah, it's amazing what the oil money did to the UAE, but I should say most of the progress should be credited to the hordes of expats who've been staying and working here almost as long as the local Arabs.
It's a great place, very liberal and very comfortable. And the crime rates are zilch. As a woman, I can walk home at around 1 or 2 am and I'd be fine.
The only complaints I'd have against this place is the heat (the summers are just insane here); and the fact that there aren't any bars or clubs that play new wave or retro.

    TheQueen,
I've always been a huge fan of new wave, but I'd never heard of The Fixx until I found my parents' collection of new wave tapes. It was their 1983 album, Reach the Beach. I was very young when The Fixx released that album. But according to my folks, I was twirling around to it back then.
What can I say? I had great taste in music even as a kid

Awww, that's a familiar story! my son did the same, and is a fan too, but not as severe as his mother. Glad to meet you.
