I have seen polls on everything but this, so here it goes!

    Breathe With Me

    Simply beautiful song . . . . (swoon)

Mayfly does run a close second though.

    A Hopeless Romantic

    Mayfly... without a doubt

Cy always knows EXACTLY how to both emote, and say these things, it's pure magic! Beautifully done. Makes a girl all "smushy" hearing this song.

(made the same choice on one of the other polls, somewhere...LOL!)

Breathe With Me, a close second...(sigh)

(now I'm all Keats, Browning and Morris...oh, and Curnin...all great poets)

The Days of Our Lives. I let a friend who doesn't know Cy's music listen to this song, and she was completely smitten, wanted more.

It's a passionate song. I could listen to it a 1000 times in a row, and I may have.
I am the winner in any event.

I had the cd with the day to day and mayfly on it from a while back- So i already went thru that phase of those two songs which i really like, So i selected from the remainder of songs that i havent heard yet- I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY was my pick.. but i m sure like the rest of you, it constantly changes- and cycles of which one is your fave of the day!

But i think the FIXX mayfly version is one of their strongest pieces EVER, and that should of been on some album release... It just probably didnt fall in place at the right time i guess...

funny how i think some of their BEST works (lighthouse, mayfly, all about you, rediscover, ships-harbor) have never surfaced.... talk about "best kept secrets!"

but i am glad to hear them anyway, even if they didnt make the cut of whatever piece they were currently working on....

    I Should Be So Lucky

Diamond05 - Also a great choice. Probably get my choice for third. It always puts a smile on my face and makes me want to sing along. And, after all, isn't that what music is all about.

    Ditto, Pippi!

Hey Diamond, agree with you about Mayfly.
Cy is already 10 out of 10, but with The Fixx, takes it to 15 out of 10, at least...

I'm going to have to give the album another listen to make a proper vote.

I've been away from my music collection for a bit but soon we shall be reunited. I've GOT to get that bloody iPod so I'm never away from my beloved tuneage.

I might be in the minority on this one, but I think Cy saves the best for last with Suburban America. I listen to that song more than anything on the disc.

I went with When Push Comes To Shove for some reason.
I think it's the attitude and wordplay of this song?
It would be intersting to hear The Fixx do a version of this song.
I can only imagine Jamie laying down a really mean riff and a searing lead break.
That's probably why I didn't vote for Mayfly. I love The Fixx's version on Lost Tracks. Cy's version is cool, but it doesn't have the energy and the instrumentation of the Lost Tracks version.

"I'm Getting Out" is pretty cute with the door slamming at the end, and Cy yelling "and don't come back!!!"

    cracks me up everytime!
I am the winner in any event.

HANDS DOWN ... NO QUESTIONS ASKED ... DAYS OF OUR LIVES.... I think I have actually worn it out on my Cd .. I will never forget the amount of emotion I felt the first time I heard that song... It took me a long time to get past welling up every time I played it ...ahhh.. the beauty of song writers..to have the ability to express the poetry of their feelings and emotions, and convey them in such a manner .. that we all can relate.....

Keats, Browning and Morris...oh, and Curnin...all great poets... very true, Kim....

I also agree on " Suburban America" .. that is clearly my second Favorite ..
that song has a lot of insight... of something I guess I am suppose to want .. but have absolutly No concept of it's meaning or purpose ..
