    Live at Electric Ladyland

    Hi,
Im a Fixx fan from Germany having grown up with their music.
At eil.com I bought a live recording from the Electric Ladyland Studios in New York (29th April, 1991) for 14.39 Euros. The quality is very good. There are also radio advertisements on the CD. Tracklisting is as follows:
    Precious stone
    All is fair
    How much is enough ?
    Shut it out
    One thing leads to another
    No one has to cry
    Outside
    Crucified
    Driven out
    Deeper and deeper
    Red skies.

I hope to see them live one day.

Best wishes to all fixxtures all over the world.

    Hello Oliver!

Welcome to the board. I am glad that you found us.

German fixx fans build a minority (They seem to be hard to find) here so it would be great if you would like to stay and post with us.

And yes, Electric Ladyland is a nice cd. Although poor Cy must have a cold on that evening. One can hear how every note must hurt him.

Thank you so much for the nice welcome messages !!!
This CD obviously is not the rarity I considered it to be.
Via Ebay I got videos broadcast on VH1 and live material but the official concert DVD of course is the best.
Do you know when The Fixx played their last concert so far in Germany ?
My dream is that well have an open air event with artists having started in the 80s when our village celebrates its 1200th anniversary in 2008, of course with The Fixx !

I am not sure. But as far as I know it must have been back in 1991 (Ink Tour). Last Tour-Dates i can found are:

    2. April Frankfurt 1991
    3. April Köln
    5. April Hamburg
    6. April Berlin
    8. April München

These are exactly the Cities in germany I would like to see them again in the future. But to be honest: I do not have much hope... But you never know...

Let me help translate Heimo's list of cities for you:

Koln (umlaut goes over the "o") - Cologne
Munchen (umlaut goes over the "u") - Munich

My credentials? I'm half-German. I found my copy of "Missing Links" while I was visiting relatives in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) area.

    Aufweidersehen,
    Mike

For whom did you interpret Heimo's typing, Mike?

And Welcome to you Dr. Oliver! It's nice to see how far reaching the Fixx's music is! I am sure Heimo can fill you in on all the essential Fixx discs you need!

    Tchuss!!

    Gruss Gott, Cyn.

I was translating the German city names more than the interesting typeset. This is for the benefit of folks that are more familiar with English version of city names, rather than the actual names used in-country.

I see on your profile that you like learning different languages. I'd be happy just to get more proficient with my German.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Mike, did you see the world biggest Kuckucksuhr during your stay in the Black Forest?

Dr O., sorry to go a little bit off topic

    LOL, That's a hoot, Heimo!

No, I haven't seen this. But I have been nearby at the German National Clock Museum in Furtwangen. Time in a Glass indeed! Lots of Cuckoos here.

Thanks Mike. Yes, this region is very famous because of this kind of clocks since the end of the 17th century. Puh, who buys that oldfashioned stuff?

It's interesting that a few Fixxtures have at least some kind of roots or a relationship to germany.

@ Dr. O: Maybe your village (I saw it is Steffenberg in Hessen, right?) is able to book The Fixx for that anniversary in 2008!

Well.. I don't know how to say it in German... but, ME TOO!! I could probably say in French though....

Glad your aboard ... Just Pete is from Colone .. I think....

    WELCOME....
You pass like the moon in silence
    In the warm flooded air
Looking back to those lost opportunities
    So often missed or ignored
A thousand times I start heading for the dawn
Only to turn around and face this rue once more
There 's something ahead of you

Don't die, with your music still inside of you.

Heimo, youre right, Steffenberg is situated in Hessen. Our village belongs to Steffenberg and is called Steinperf. It has about 1000 inhabitants.
A relative is an event manager and I hope that he will be enthusiastic about my idea of this 80s concert.

Just imagine the Fixx would really play at your place you should tell your event manager that some american fixx fans from this board need a direct flight to frankfurt and should be invited.
