Smile Cy and Jamie on Kimmel Replay 07-04-06

    Hello All,

I was on Jimmy Kimmel's site today and noticed this. "Tuesday Jul. 4: Tommy Lee, Comedian Greg Fitzsimmons, 98 year old high school student Josephine Belasco, Musical guests The Fixx"

For those that might have missed it your second chance. Here is the link http://abc.go.com/primetime/jimmykimmel/index.html

    Kimmel Replay

    Another weird question.......

If there were so many complaints about the Fixx's appearance on that show, why, then oh why are they replaying it? And, on the 4th of July?

This is why I didn't weigh in on that subject, as I thought that it was great for the band, if not so great for those of us at-home TV viewers. The real judgement can (and should) be made by those trusted Fixxtures who were there in the audience. They saw whole songs, not just 5 second "snipits".
I was not there, so I can't endorse or condemn. I've only contended that it was good exposure to get the name out and be seen on that show (twice now). Like most of you, I'd prefer to have seen all 5 guys, because that's the Fixx, but, we can't look a gift horse in the mouth, publicity wise.

It was a major coup by Ed just to land the gig, and will pay handsome dividends very soon, in my opinion. The real deal is the MUSIC anyway. Fixx music will sell itself, and will stand on it's own for all time. It just needs to be presented to the public. The Kimmel exposure helps arrive at that place, hopefully sooner than later.

    Dr. Roger

Eh? Complaints? where? If someone managed to capture this, and can post on the web somewhere, I'd love to see it
    From the point of ignition
    to the final drive
    the point of the journey
    is not to arrive
    anything can happen

I am glad they are getting such great national exposure, although we Fixxtures think they should be the highlight of any show! that's just us.

It is great that their appearance is being replayed. Even a small amount of exposure can be exponential when it comes to TV.

    It's all good.
I am the winner in any event.

I don't believe I read any complaints but perhaps constructive criticism built for the future!

My guess is the JK show is on holiday and they do not tape a new show for that night -
so they use a recent show with current topics /events so it dont seem outdated....

There weren't any real complaints as far as I recall reading. Was there another thread I missed?

Not sure where you got this but I was (am) watching the July 4th rerun
and it inspired me to google "the Fixx" and find this site. I dont get to
listen to the radio very often as I deal with too many things at once to
have the distraction. Anytime I hear it on tv I love it.

Being a musician myself (drummer), im prone to critique a performance
when its prompted and so far it seemed fine. The bass could have been
turned down just a notch but what do you expect? Its a live stage gig
and anything can and will happen..heh heh.

Its too bad they arent coming thru Dallas or I might see them. Funny
thing is I was going thru tour dates a few minutes ago and was in Knoxville,
TN when they came thru but didnt know it. Now im not that
dedicated of a fan but id definately pay to see them live. Im glad they
made it onto Kimmel for the exposure. Maybe it will help get a date here
    in Dallas.

I probably wont speak up much here but rather use this site as a reference,
but im happy to speak on this one.

Just my being here tonight is a sign that the performance was good, even
if I only got to see 5 second snipits.

    cheers

    Andrew

Well dang it. I showed up here a day late. I had just remembered about the show last month, and thought maybe someone had a re-air date for it.

Anyone want to put it up on You Tube?
