    Vegas Baby

So, who's IN for VEGAS, BABY ??

The Hard Rock is booking very fast for that night. It's very expensive, perhaps alternatives can be found. I don't know much about the newer places there. Any local info from a Fixxture closeby?

Stratosphere is very reasonable - but not so close. Sahara is also cheap. My daughter and I are looking into all posibilities today and I will get back with you when we get all the stats. I also like Excalibur cuz' of their location.

As hard Rock is not directly on the Strip - you may want to stay at a hotel that is not a casino. There is an AmeriSuites across the street - a Comfort Inn next door. Ther is also St. Tropez Hotel, Alexis park Resort Hotel, Atrium Suites Hotel and Fairland Grand Dessert Hotel all within walking distance and it that same area off of the strip.

    I'm in!
    Booking plane tickets this weekend.
Don't know what hotel we're staying at either.
What's everyone else's plan? How about a Fixxfest?

I'm actually considering just flying in that afternoon and pulling an all nighter, then flying home the next morning. No need for a room...

    So tempting...

More details at this link http://www.hardrockhotel.com/rock_specialevents.php
Click on "Summer Concerts at the Pool" in upper right. Then you'll see them listed, as they are playing outside.

(Edited) On further view, it looks like you have 2 options for getting tickets.

    1. Pay for a Cabana, which is a small room just off the Pool, and appears to have a couch and TV. The site states that you don't have to be a hotel guest to rent one. The Cabana costs $200 (not sure if it is for the event only, or for all day), and included in the $200 are 8 tickets for the show (works out to be as cheap as $25 per person). Sounds like an interesting option for those so inclined.

    2. Pay $15 per person general admission.

Doors open 7 PM, Concert at 8 PM, according to the Hard Rock "concerts at the pool" page (although this may change).

    Hope this helps.

FYI, I think TicketMaster shows the showtime as 9:30pm. Tickets on sale on Saturday at Noon.

You first timers will want to stay on the Strip - it's the only way to really do Vegas. Just be prepared for the dessert heat!

I am thinking Excalibur - location and very reasonable.
