    Outside?

In recent memory, does anyone recall if the Fixx played the song "Outside" live in concert?

    Thanks,

    Dr. Roger

yeah it pops into the mix every now and then-

the more songs they come out with the more they seem to neglect.....

time for a longer set list (WE WISH!!!)

"Outside" is the one song I have hoped to hear live. In the 2 concerts I've attended, haven't had the luck to hear it yet.

I also think it would be interesting to hear the end of song solo work by Jamie on his new Paul Reed Smith guitar.

I think they occasionally play with it during soundcheck...

They played "Outside" at Oshkosh, WI in 2001. My first Fixx concert.

Not all that recent. It was pre-Gary Tibbs, with Chris Tait on the bass.

They also did "Happy Landings". Cy played guitar and dedicated the song to his Mum.

i think everyone on here, knows my irish sarcastic (wink!) sense of humour...

life's too short to not be fun and exciting...

As we say at the racetrack "If you cant win (the race) at least be spectacular"

(meaning flip the f*cker upside down a few times and make the highlight reel!)

we even have a decal from a local auto shop on the bottom side underneath on the car who promises if we get it airborne and they see his logo, he'll give us a grand!

Hmmm 100,000.00 worth of damage or a grand...... but its all in fun!

    !

    Doc,
    Back to your question...

I think you should pre-request "Outside" for the upcoming outside concert in Vegas.

Come to think of it, the website here ought to make a deal with the boys for times when they have longer breaks like this. They could take a poll for playing a non-released song that they traditionally don't play, for inclusion within their next "block" of dates. Given time, maybe the boys could brush it off. Maybe the band could even suggest the list of songs for the poll, just so we know they're willing/able to give it another try.

I would guess that the following would make that list on some occasions:
    Outside
    Facing the Wind
    Cameras in Paris
    Sinking Island
Happy Landings (wasn't released, right? This makes an excellent closer)
(that extra song on the Walkabout CD) Peace on Earth?
Sweet Pandemonium (Yes, make Jamie sing!)
I was about to list "Climb the Hill"...but do NOT let Adam sing! The day he does, he will go bald like Phil Collins. Something about singing and drumming affecting folicle life, right Doc? heh

I think they should play a medley of these songs that link altogether.

Outside- INTO- Roger and Out- INTO- a verse of phantom living!

Only one guitar solo needed for the whole thing... i wont be greedy!

    WoW !

    WOW BM:

Believe me, IF I had the power to even have the quallunes to even think about requesting a song, my first choice would surely be "These Boots", in the same way it sounds on the 25th issue.

My question about Outside was based on the fact that they did Outside at the sound check at Eureka. I was blown away as my jaw dropped and found myself once again in awe. I didn't know that they even played that song, so when they did it, I thought it was a flashback.

So maybe I should have titled this thread: "What's the deepest song you saw live"? I'd still love to see Treasure It, Walkabout, among others. This is a pipe dream for us both, BM !!

    Best,

    Dr. Roger
