    Smile Introduction

My first post . . .just wanted to say "Hey" -- it's great to be a part. I've been a Fixx fan since I was 12 or so. I don't have too much time to participate, but read a posting the other day I wanted to add my 2 cents too, so I've signed up.

I was at the Kansas City concert last May 31st with my hubby. That was the first time I'd seen them since they opened for the Moody Blues way back in high school in Austin, Texas. (I didn't stay for the Moody Blues, BTW) . . . Has anyone else bought a ticket just to see the opening act?? <grins>

    Welcome Swim!

You are not alone. I, too, have ditched the main act after seeing the opening band. Both times, it was to see The Fixx. Coincidentally, I didn't stick around for The Moody Blues either (to Steve P - sorry dude, I just wasn't into them ;-) I also bagged Supertramp after the boys in 1983. My shows were in Columbia, MD.

So glad you got to see the band play again recently and it brought you to the Board.

Wow! Thanks for the nice welcome . . . great to see that there are some active fans here to visit with. I'm not sure if this is the place to overcome my addiction (to the Fixx) or merely feeding it. (What do you think? Fixxtures Anon or something else?) But, at any rate -- it's nice to know that I'm not alone, as I mostly feel and have felt since I was a youngster. If I were really that alone, they would not have kept putting out good music. So, thank goodness for all of you! Love -- from me!

Swim- welcome. I was also at that KC concert last May. Don't live near Kansas anymore...

Glad to have you here, and I hope you aren't snowed (or iced) in right now.

    Beached ~

Cool! Actually, we got the least of it here. Just cold. The other morning it was -3 degrees. Not much in the way of snow or ice. What's with the crazy weather anyway. GOOD GRIEF!

    Question

    guten tag!

Let's see if I have all this straight before I jump in anymore . . . "question" is for forum questions, as per the administrator. "elected," for polls. "sign of fire??" Is that for when you just want to let off some "heat"??!!

"How much is enough," that's FIXX merchandise for sale. The Flow, Outside and Lighthouse . . . what is the difference between these??

Maybe I should take these questions to the "Question" forum??

    Swim...

Lighthouse is the main folder. It's devoted to discussion of the Fixx exclusively. Music. Tour dates. News.

Outside is for non-Fixx related topics. Whatever folks seem compelled to yack about.

The Flow is for Fixx marketing, basically. Ideas. Street Team activities. Flyers for shows are often posted there.

You are right, Sign of Fire is really for venting and discussions that would be considered controversial.

Question is typically for technical issues and suggestions.

    Thanks, musegirl . . .

I think it's rather funny that we both ditched the Moody Blues after the Fixx. What a hoot.

I think I'm all cleared up now and ready for take off . . . if I can just get the details figured out.

    Welcome!

It's interesting how many members here turned on to The Fixx when they were young and continue to like them.

Glad you mentioned that - here was me thinking it was some kind of midlife crisis!

Welcome, Swim On A Train, from a fellow newbie!

Great board this - I haven't had much time to post yet but this place is full of genuine music fans. Enjoy!
