    Question Can I Please Be a Fixx Legend?

    I think a glitch in the software has kept my status at Fixxture.

    Or have I been too naughty? (sorry)

    How weird - definitely a glitch in the system. I'll take a look.

    BTW, we should come up with some more titles, maybe some for 2000, 5,000, and 10,000?

    Here's what we have now:

    * Newbie (Minimum Posts: 0)
    * Member (Minimum Posts: 10)
    * Fixxture (Minimum Posts: 40)
    * Fixxated (Minimum Posts: 500)
    * Fixx Legend (Minimum Posts: 1000)

    Any suggestions? Fixxaholic? Fixxation?

    For 10,000 you'd need to have been around here a good while... how 'bout "oldbie"?

    How 'bout a rejiggering - it's hard to top "Legend"...

    yeah, but if you increase the status requirements, we will have people blabbing about nothing just to get the clicker rolling and count their BS posts.. it has happened before. Someone joins the board and has been here 2-3 months and is the same status as a BASH, PARISEAU, or etc... and they ve only rarely mentioned the fixx- just non related things! ???

    make em earn it thru meaningful stuff like we all did!

    QUALITY over QUANTITY !!! (regarding posts)

    over maybe they should only apply to lighthouse topics only- FIXX related.

    then they can BS all they want on other sub topics w/out getting credit....

    Should someone who blabs about what color they painted their living room (having nothing to do with this board or the fixx) and carry the thread on- be as worthy or substantial as something that is fixx related....

    i dont think so.....

    but then again, i dont control the board so it is up to the powers to be.....

    happy pre easter all-

    That is possible, the software can allow post counts in only some boards to increase your total, but not others.

    What do other's think?

    Here's my take - it's a community of people drawn together by their appreciation of the Fixx, but that can't be the only thing that matters, or our world will be awfully small. The beauty of it is that we can skip what we aren't interested in.

    People who have the time/inclination to talk about other stuff have a place here as well, and that's why we have the other forums. All posts should count.

    And even if it's only Lighthouse posts that are counted, imagine the topics of those who are "status happy":

    Who's cutest in the band?
    Let's count the number of times Cy sings {some random word}
    Let's turn the above into a drinking game {okay, that might be fun!}
    Vote for your favorite Jamie t-shirt
    How many times a gig does Adam stick out his tongue?
    Next tour, is Cy's hair frosted or not? Make your prediction here!

    I really don't think we have too many folks here who are "status happy" - is there some kind of secret prize? (If so, I didn't get mine! *pout* LOL!) People will probably just keep posting as they always have. They'd just have more levels to show under their names.

    Personally, I like it when that little "subtitle" can be set by the user. Most of the boards I've posted on in the past had that option activated.

    yeah .... i guess... if it works- dont fixx it!

    the purpose is to gather people here to chat and have fun, not scare em away- unless they **** us off with crazy nonsense posts.... LOL!

    a hug bash?

    Thank you, Jeff!

    I held off asking for the change. But since I've been a member since 2001, I figure I've earned it.

    Personally, I think the term Fixxture shouldn't be taken lightly. When I joined in 2001, it took longer to earn that status.

    edit: I should apologize for possibly wasting forum space and making this request public. I figured it was the best way to get Jeff's attention. I'm glad it elicited interesting discussion.

    Thank you Dave. How kind.

    Those are actual cans. That is to say they are storage containers that contain beer, painted to represent a six pack of the brewery's product. I gave Mike, from Australia, a sixer of La Crosse Lager when he visited the USA.

    Not a waste of space. Besides, it's about a Fixx Legend (YOU!), so that's a good thing!

    No need to apologize, ya goof!

    Actually, you're right - this is the best place to get my attention, all posts to Questions go into my email box, so I'm sure to notice it. :-)

    This is a good forum...

    Umm. If anyone looks at my bio. Right now it says. "I have over 1500 posts. That makes me important."

    I meant it as a joke. OK?
