It was announced today that Mark Whitaker has been named the new Washington bureau chief for NBC News, filling the post that was vacated by Tim Russert's death.

Mark has a background in print media, as he was former editor of Newsweek Magazine.

He has been with NBC News since last year.

He will appear on camera occasionally.
I don't "go through channels." I dig my own....

We will soon have the chance to see Luke in action. He will cover the Democratic and Republican conventions as they apply to youth issues. He has been hired by NBC for this special assignment...........
