thank you everyone for the prayers bill's surgery went very well he is home resting as of yesterday morning took the dressing off his groin area and it looks good also no bleeding or extra swelling. the doc said the anuerism was bigger then he though when he got in there so they put a 4 inch stint in instead of a 2 inch one and had to pack the coil really good as it was bigger the surgery took 2 hours and when i saw him he looked better then when he went in amazing he wasn't squinting the right eye and his color looked good in his face too! he had to lay flat for 4 hours in intensive care then they put him in a room at 8;30 that night in the intensive care unit. his first word was COFFEE when i saw him and i knew he was doing good lol. just so happy it all went well and he is home with me again he just has to watch for swelling in his groin area now and no lifting or anything for a while he goes back to the nuerologist feb. 17th for his post-op appt. unless something happens before that but i don't think so he is doing great!! while i was at the hospital i got a call from my wrist doctor about my bloodwork and it wasn't good! a couple levels in my white blood cells were too high which means a infection so they put me back on the sulpher pills until i go back there on the 29th of jan. i am hoping this clears it up so they don't have to go back in and take the rod out of my wrist that would be brutal keeping my fingers crossed it clears up with the pills but scared as i already took 2 rounds of them already? have a great weekend everyone and thanks again for the kind words and prayers!!

LOL, Dee... I'm sure if Ira ever had surgery, his first word'd be COFFEE, too.
Glad everything went well for you guys, though.

The times I've been put under, I inevitably ask for my cat...it's fun to hear secondhand about the nurse getting embarrassed in the waiting room, thinking she's leaked some tawdry affair...until hubby does the eye roll and says..."she's asking for her cat". LOL!

bill is doing well went back to work monday he was sore for a couple days because he wasn't use to it for a while but better now he still has headaches but the doc said it is normal because he is not tottaly healed yet from the surgery? he will have to go back in two months and have another angiogram to make sure everything is okay with the stint and coil the surgeon put in his brain. he was very lucky as the anuerism was in his karated artery going to his brain!!! i thank god for that every day!! myself i am still having a fair amount of pain from the wrist fusion surgery but getting better still dropping things and can;t write well yet but i don't think that will change much anyways? i am having alot of pain in the right wrist that i broke when i fell because i was using it for everything for the past 2 years now so i had x rays done on the right wrist wednesday and other tests and the doc thinks i have carpal tunnel and or arthritis in the right wrist now so i have a long splint for that and they put me on mobic once a day it is for carpal tunnel and arthritis anti-inflamatory the doc also ordered a emg test which i hate but we have to wait for comp. to approve the test so it will be a while ? all i know is that i told the doc no way am i having another fusion surgery on the right wrist one was enough for me i will suffer with the pain!! hope everyone is doing well here take care

i have not posted here in a while mostly because alot is going on right now. i went back to the wrist surgeon a couple weeks ago because i had to have my left wrist checked out again after the surgery, no improvement what so ever still have pain and swelling and dropping things with both hands still. waiting for a call from the doc that they received authorization for a emg for my right wrist as i have carpal tunnel and arthritis in it now. bill is doing okay from his surgery but still having headaches and is going to have another angiogram next thursday to chech the stint and coil and make sure everything is okay? my dog harley is still limping from his acl surgery and if he doesn't get better by the middle of may we have to take him back to the vet? it is taking a long time for him to heal and we can't figure out why even the vet said the surgery went well and his leg is sturdy and solid from the surgery? we also adopted another puppy that was abandoned in a apartment in buffalo bill's nephew brought it home and we saw it at his house and took it home he had worms big time so we dewormed him and took him to the vet last saturday. he is a black pitbull 3 months old and very cute i named him samson he had his first round of shots and has to go back the end of may for the next 2 again but he and harley get along great they play and fight together jasmine basically tolerates him as she is 10 years old and doesn't want to be bothered lol. i know all the things people say about pit bulls but if you train them right they are great dogs and so far so good samson is a very good puppy and i have him trained already to go outside when he needs to so that is a good thing i am just glad we saved another puppy from who knows what? have a great day everyone!!

I don't know how many of you know about George's health problem for the past 3 yrs. but May 1st is now a day of celebration for us. He was leaking cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) out of his nose that started 3 yrs ago. This was due to a tear in the covering of his brain and resulted in bacterial meningitis which was -thankfully- caught in time and cured and the leak stopped on it's own only to come back in about 8 months. Because the leak came back and opened a route for bacteria, he got meningitis for the second time April '09. A CSF leak specialist had just arrived at Barnes-Jewish hospital in St. Louis and she did surgery to patch the leak on May 1st 2009. It has been 1 yr. and he has recovered nicely. The Dr.'s said he could have been dead within hrs. both times and his recovery is nothing short of a miracle. Celebrate every day with the one's you love. Life is precious.
