"Rescued from the garbage! "When The Time Comes, Will You Believe?" is a truly obscure song by The Fixx. It never ended up on any of their CD's, not even as a B-side on a single nor in any of their compilation discs. No studio version was *ever* recorded. It was played at a show during their 1987 tour. This particular live version is not the usual version that was played on that tour and thus is even more obscure. This version rocks a little harder and has a different break which really illustrates the guitarist's signature guitar style. This rare version was played maybe just once at a gig at Chicago Parkwest and captured as a bootleg recording on someone's handheld audiotape recorder. Twenty years later he found the audiotape and converted it to mp3 and posted it online. This bootleg originally had a much quieter ending to the song which ended around 3:30 but it was slightly corrupted and didn't sound right so I fashioned a more energetic extended outro from other parts of the song. I don't know why the band rejected it because it sure sounds like a hit to me! Maybe the band will run across this video and dust off the song and record it for their upcoming 10th studio CD in 2011. What do you think of it? Can you believe the band thought so little of it as to discard it forever? Even their trash is better than most band's best."
This is one of my favorite live FIXX videos. At posting time view count is @ 46,319 so I don't know if this is exactly obscure, but I love it.

This is a rare upload of the original "Red Skies" video from one of the camera men. It doesn't come up easily in a search, so I am glad to have an obvious place to save it. There's a short lead in and some fancy montage camera bits in it. Happily, the video has a crisp quality to it that has been lost in various VH1 Classic TV downloads.

Interesting take on Fatal Shore over YouTube, based on an animation from a video game.
I've been lurking...
I like this idea~ one place of fixx videos, for sorting them all. I had not seen that one for Red Skies before!
On FB I saw a comment by someone named Lee Chambers who says he directed the video for Touch~ another favorite of mine. He even commented he would like to work on another video ~ would be great to have a video or two along with the new CD.

Today, someone posted an old clip of One Thing from a late night show to Youtube. It's so fun to find something like this to watch again. I hope you enjoy watching it as much I did. (As a shallow aside, there is some amazing hair here.) Summer is indeed upon us.
