Jeff? anyone ? old threads appearing as if they have new replies...

When i open this site to the new posts section. (where I start to see whats new!),
I'm getting all these threads of polls coming up like they have new messages-
and when you look at the link, the latest reply to that thread was 2008....

WHY are they showing up as new threads or new comments when theres been no activity on it for 3-5 years ????

seems to be lots of them displaying lately- So instead of 2-6 new comments/posts, there are 15-25 (but half of them are fake-new posts!) :$

I think it is related to the ELECTED posts.....

Hi D3 - I'm not having this problem. Is anyone else? Can you perhaps take a sceenshot and email it to me? jeff at holyzoo dot com.

Just to be clear, this is in "New Posts", not the "What's New" tab up top?

    thanks.

I believe this occurs when someone comes along and places a new vote on the poll.
Even though there is not a new message entered, a new vote in the poll gives the thread new action.

I can exclude Elected from the 'What's New?' page. Would everyone be ok with that?

Ok - I may have found it, buried in the vbulletin preferences theres an option to NOT have a post pop to the top just because someone voted. If someone comes along and votes years later, the vote will be added, but won't affect the "New Posts" view.

Indeed-thanks so much for all your work here Jeff! I was noticing the same thing about the old polls. No big deal, but . . . just saw this thread and noticed your fast correction of such a small problem Serious thanks for making this so easy for all of us!!!
